Standing approx 9" tall is this superbly stylish Art Deco comport. Originating from Czech republic and obviously influenced by Karl Palda this comport packs two punches, not only visually with it's very distinctive green / yellow colouring with added jet black enamel accents/design but the pure size of it which stands 23 cm high and 25cm in diameter. The glass is extremely thick and therefore the comport itself is very very heavy. The shape is extremely unusual, the column which supports the large bowl top features a nude female encircling to create the column. The most common colour of uranium glass is pale yellowish-green, which in the 1930s led to the nickname "Vaseline glass" based on a perceived resemblance to the appearance (which was a yellow-green colour) of Vaseline brand petroleum jelly as formulated and commercially sold at that time. This piece definitely won't disappoint, we defy the new owner not to fall in love it. Condition is excellent, can't find any damage or flaws to note. This is the second one we've ever had of this design in the last 15 years, so reasonably rare. UK customers: we want you to be delighted with your purchases from us and so we offer a full money back guarantee (items must be returned within 14 days in same condition as when sent) if you are not fully satisfied with your purchases from us for what ever reason and would like to return them.
