Description
A very attractive pair of art deco bookends with a model of a cat on each. Each cat is modelled in a type of angular cubist manner and appear to be nickel plated on spelter. The bookends are veined Belgian black marble with a thinner white panel that the cats stand on. French in origin and date to the 1930s . No makers marks. They are quite heavy at 2.43kg together.Condition is good. There is a bit of wear to the plated surface of the cats revealing the base metal. No dents or cracks to them. The marble is good, just a few tiny chips at the lower edges.
